Dunwoody Pines is excited to announce that dental services can now be received here at our community. Direct Mobile Dentistry, headed by Dr. Lee I. Cohen will be coming to Dunwoody Pines to provide comprehensive quality dental care to our residents. This is an exciting opportunity for all of us to contribute to the increased quality of life we all deserve no matter where we live or what stage of life we are in. As many of you know, the logistical barriers such as transportation can make even the most routine medical and dental care appointment a complicated and sometimes prohibitive ordeal.
Dr. Cohen graduated from Boston University School of Dentistry and completed a dental residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. In 1994, Dr. Cohen went into private practice in Marietta, Georgia providing his patients with the most up-to-date dental treatments. In 2001 after seeing the difficulties some families were having trying to bring their elderly parents into his office, Dr. Cohen began providing dental services to senior communities in the Atlanta and surrounding areas. Direct Mobile Dentistry has brought much needed dental services to both assisted living and memory care communities for over 10 years now.
Although most residents are scheduled for their routine exam and cleaning, Dr. Cohen is also able to do fillings, repair and make new partials and dentures, as well as other routine dental procedures performed in a traditional dental office. Dr. Cohen and his staff will be on-site taking care of the oral health of our residents on a regular basis and a three or six month cleaning schedule can be maintained no matter how mobile a resident is. Dentures should be examined and cleaned regularly especially if a sore spot develops or weight loss has made the dentures fit poorly.
